What is Counselling?

Counselling is a talking therapy. It offers someone to talk to, who is non-judgemental, and who will help you to make sense of and work through difficult emotions, behaviours, experiences and relationships. It looks at how previous experience can affect current thinking, feelings and behaviour.

How Can it Help Me?

Counselling can help you to discover yourself, and find hidden resilience and resources. It can help to support you through immediate crisis, or long term issues.

Who Goes?

Counselling is good for everybody, from the very young to the very elderly, and every walk of life.

What Can I Talk About?

You can talk about anything at counselling.  Often people do not know why they come but recognise that they need to talk with someone. The adjacent list only covers a small proportion of the issues that someone may bring to counselling.

How Long Does It Take?

Counselling can be from 6 weeks to open ended, and anywhere in between.  The duration of the counselling is discussed at the first session and reviewed regularly throughout.

Each session is 50 minutes.

Each session is once per week

Sessions are the same time and same day every week

Is It Confidential?

Yes, counselling is confidential.  Confidentiality is vital in providing a free, safe and open environment where everything and anything can be discussed.

“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside awakens”.
Carl Gustav Jung
